I also suffered trauma in 2008 and used writing to free myself from this, and now I cannot recall these experiences; they are gone.
It doesn't need to be trauma it can be normal stress and relationship worries. Every part of our life can benefit from writing. What is expressive writing?
Expressive Writing therapy is the act of writing down, in many forms, deep and emotional issues or events in our lives and releasing ourselves from the burden of these things recurring in our minds. Psychologists have been exploring the physical and emotional affects of writing therapy for more than 30 years.
Expressive Writing Therapy accompanies normal counselling or therapy and does not replace it. The studies found that writing therapy, which takes different forms but involves writing about our deep emotions about events and people in our lives, produces many, physical, emotional, and mental health benefits.
