My Story
Write for Life was created from a deep belief in the power of words to heal, transform, and reconnect us to ourselves. Write for Life was born out of a desire to allow as many people as possible to discover these simple, powerful and profound tools to release themselves through their own words.
I founded this organisation many years ago, after I experienced trauma and decided to write this down. Once I wrote this trauma down it completely disappeared from my mind, and it had been playing over and over before this. I was amazed and so I started to do this every day and released more and more painful things that were coming up. I also ran a workshop and discovered the phenomenal research that had been done since the 1980s, in psychology.
I am a journalist, author, and teacher and in Write for Life we bring together expressive writing, creativity, and personal growth in a supportive and accessible way.
My background is in university lecturing, high school and college teaching, as well as professional writing, I have spent 18 years helping people find clarity, confidence, and meaning through language. This experience shapes every course, workshop and coaching offering—grounded, thoughtful, and designed to meet people where they are.
At Write for Life, we offer courses focused on expressive writing for healing, alongside a range of other creative programs that encourage self-discovery and personal expression. Whether you are processing life experiences, exploring your creativity, or simply looking for a safe space to write, our courses are designed to guide and support you.
For those seeking a more personalised approach, one-on-one coaching is also available. These sessions with me provide a confidential and compassionate space to explore writing as a tool for healing, reflection, and growth.
Write for Life is not just a place for learning—it’s a space to feel safe, to pause, release, reflect, and rediscover your inner joy.

Sharon
“I would recommend Suzanne’s writing therapy workshop. When I booked it, I thought it would be a creative process, but it turned out to be much more. It helped me release some experiences that I thought I had long forgotten. Overall, it was a very positive workshop with long-lasting results.”

Peter B.
"I felt really released, relaxed and grounded after expressive writing. I would highly recommend Write for Life to anyone. It’s a less confronting form of therapy that allows people to see their subconscious thoughts and issues on paper, right before their eyes and to be free from them.”

Sarah
"Expressive writing brought up things I had not thought about for a long time, and helped me deal with my anger towards my parents and forced me to deal with things I have been holding onto for most of my life. Suzanne gave me some tools to check myself when feeling certain ways at home.
I love the idea of writing things down as I struggle to speak out my emotions. It has been more successful than any other thing I have done.”

Beverly
“I got a lot out of this. I think it is a process that can shift things. That is help people to become unstuck. From this workshop I have gained a tool for me to use, and possibly a tool for me to use in the future with clients. Thank you.”

Cheryl
"I have learned very worthwhile skills and life skills in this course. I enjoyed all of it. In writing a letter to my son I felt released and it gave me a way of mending things in the future as it helped me to tap into empathy. I thought Writing for Healing was great, I will do more writing therapy and I would definitely recommend it to others!

Yenny
